Our goaltending is Brutal. We really missed the boat by not acting out a trade by March 1st. Hockey is a team sport..but without a good goaltender your totally fucked. Goaltender's make and break games. This is the NHL not some squirt AAA team, therefore our goalie's should be on TOP of their game. We shouldn't have to keep trading goalies, overloading the offense just to score more goals because our talentless goalies can't stop a beach ball. Just saying.

Every single time I see stories on goaltending, it makes me cringe - but yes, I still have to read them :)
Although the numbers (GAA, Save Percentage, etc) are usually accurately stated by the writers, it does not tell the whole story. There is no "goaltending break". A goalie (amateur or professional) can have 30 shots on goal - no screened shots, directly shot at his chest and get a shut out. His numbers are going to look fantastic. Then you can a goalie who has 20 shots on goal, 3 go in. All 20 shots on goal could have been incredible!! And this goalie could have been standing on his head, with no help in front of him.. but those numbers are going to look bad.
Hockey is a TEAM sport. Pointing out a position as being weak on a team, only berates the entire team. Goaltending is not weak on ANY NHL team. Are there bad goals? Yes. Are there great goals? Yes. Are there bad games? Ofcourse. But, every person on that roster pushes to be there and with that, deserves to be there. A few bad plays by one player, can be made up by another. The destiny of ANY championship team is not made up of who is in the net for the games, but the players who are playing together and working together - as a team. Just my two cents :)

Pierre needs to tell the truth. Commenting on poor goaltending for both teams. Last I checked Hawks scored on a goal bouncing off of Rafalski and Filppula coughing the puck up back in the slot with a wicked shot from Ladd up and under the cross bar. Did I miss something Pierre? Granted Huet struggled a little but where is the heart from the Blackhawks players? Not seeing it.
And another thing Byfuglien was in the paint. His butt hit Howard in the paint and his right skate was in the paint. And no I am not a Wings fan just calling it like I see it.
