I’ll tell you exactly what Ovie’s good at: Standing in Crosby’s shadow. He lost to Crosby in the playoffs last year and had to watch a better player carry the Cup around on the ice (oh, yeah, the Pens crushed the Caps in game 7) and then had to watch Crosby win the gold metal in the Olympics (oh, yeah, team Canada crushed the Russians in that game).
All Ovie is good for is shaking Croaby’s hand after getting beat and saying “go get the Cup” or “Go get the gold.”

Watch what you say. I don’t think you calling someone ‘stupid’ is very clever my friend. Be mature and a gentleman, unless you are actually under 10 which would explain your immaturity. Bottom line, Crosby is a whimp and a cry baby and can’t take a hit like a man.
By the way, Matt Cooke is a dirty player who has a history of cheap shots. That blind-sided dirty cheap shot he gave to Savard shows that he has absolutely no respect for other players. He could have possibly ended his career with that cheap shot. He should be suspended for the rest of the season AND the playoffs. I can’t stand players like that. He’s a POS and he gives hockey a bad name. Of course the league will probably only suspend him for a meaningless couple of games.

And the “Cindy” stuff – yes, we all know it is all over the internet. So in that context, and by your own admission, you are just regurgitating what you have heard and read elsewhere. Ovechkin, really? He’s probably the most ref pampered player in the league. Big hits yes, but dirty, knee on knee, jumping into his checks leaving the ice, no penalties or fines and he deserves both. Crosby is not yet a Messier, but neither was he at 22. Crosby is still learning the game and faster than most, he improved his goal scoring and face-offs this year. As a Ranger fan, you must admit that is no greater whiner in hockey than your own Tortorella.

Please……his head seems to snap back everytime another player touches him. He plays like a whoos. A player like Ovechkin on the other hand will not do that, get it? Ovechkin plays like a man not a little cry baby. If you watch a player like Ovechkin, he’ll take hits like a man (and give big hits back) and will not embelish anything or snap his head back like Cindy does. Watch the game and Crosby very closely and you will see. You’re obviously a fan of Cindy or else you would not have said anything about my “Cindy” reference. Unless you’re hiding ubderneath a rock, the “Cindy” reference is all over the internet. And no, not every player takes dives, that’s ridiculous. No, I’m not a Penguins fan, I’m a Rangers fan and don’t even compare Crosby to Messier as a captain. Go ahead, I’m waiting to what you have to say now that you know I’m a Rangers fan.

You perceive it as whining because you obviously do not like him. He does what all captains do (and are expected to do as a captain). He talks to the refs, questions calls, gets explanations, etc. All captains do this. You see this as whining since you for some reason do not like the young man. And “Cindy” Crosby? Really? That’s 2nd grade playground stuff there. You can do better.

You haven’t been watching him lately, Scott. He rarely says a word to the refs on his own account. He may stick up for a teammate that got a bad call, but that’s what team captains are supposed to do.

Leaky, you obviously have not watched hockey very long. I’m a huge fan of Crosby, but he hasn’t yet approached Lemieux’s (or Gretzky’s) status. He is nowhere close to the goal scoring talent that Mario was. Crosby’s playmaking ability is the best in the league, but still a step behind Mario as well. Give Crosby more time and we’ll see.

Great player but a bit of a whiner. I’ve never seen a hockey player complain to the refs as much as Crosby does. On top of that, he embelishes (dives) many calls and the refs buy his BS since he’s a star in the league. I hated that with Gretzky and I hate it with this guy. His name is officially Cindy Crosby because he’s such a girl.

Man, do I ever hate hype. I pretty much reject all those that are hyped. I did so with Crosby those first two years. But I couldn’t do that anymore. Danged if that kid hasn’t lived up to every ounce of that hype. At this point, any “haters” are either stupid or jealous and it is just silly and they look ridiculous. He’s proved time and time again that he’s something special. And he’s only 22 years old. Pretty remarkable.
